Kala Academy Goa’s College of Theatre arts, Campal, panaji, Goa inaugurated 163rd Red Ribbon Club Awareness Training on HIV/AIDS initiated by Goa State AIDS Control Society, Panaji – Goa on Wednesday, 28th July 2021 via Google Meet Platform. Inauguration of Red Ribbon club was done by Dr, Geeta Kakodkar, Project Director Goa State AIDS Control Society, Panaji Goa. Dr Priyanka Sahasrabhojanee, Consultant Psychiatrist was the distinguished speaker who spoke about the significance of the role of youngsters in spreading the awareness, prevention and control of HIV/AIDS in Goa State.
Miss Shefali Naik, RRC Joint Convenor, compared the programme. The inaugural address for the programme was given by Prof. Ramrao Wagh, Principal of Kala Academy Goa’s College of Theatre Arts, Campal, panaji, Goa. Ms Chaitali Gawas, College Counsellor/RRC Convener has introduced the Speaker Dr Priyanka Sahasrabhojanee to the participants.
Dr Priyanka Sahasrabhojanee took the participants on a journey wherein she explained mainstreaming of HIV/AIDS and ensuring safe blood are major activities to control the spread of HIV/AIDS in the countries. She highlighted the role of youngsters in generating awareness regarding HIV/AIDS and promoting volunteering blood donation, to ensure safe blood and implement preventive programmes on HIV/AIDS. The participant made the session was very lively through their enthusiastic participation. The programme began at 3.00 pm and concluded at 4.00 pm with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr Swapnil Bhaip, College Director of Physical education and Sports/ RRC Finance Officer. The total number of participants there for the programme was around 60.
