GENERAL RULES

1. Students must attend classes in time and under no circumstances, leave the classroom without the permission of the class teachers. Irregular attendance may result in their being struck off from the registers.

2. The student should collect their caution money within a period of six months after completion of the course of study, failing which the money will be forfeited and deposited in the Government Treasury.

3. Serious action will be taken against any student found taking part or associating in any way with disorderly proceedings within the College premises.

4. Every student shall carry on regularly his/her identity card issued by the College immediately after admission and get the same renewed every year.

5. Students have to maintain proper decorum, to follow the rules and regulations of the Institute, and to pay due respect to the Faculty and other officials.

6. Damage to the College property (fixtures, fittings, instruments, furniture, books/periodicals, vehicles, building, etc.) shall be viewed seriously and might result in instant expulsion of the guilty students from the College.

7. The students are expected to have 100% attendance at classes as per the regulation of the Goa University. However, a minimum of 75% attendance is essential. Students must appeared for Terminal Examination conducted by the College at the end of First term, failing which he/she will not be allowed to appear for the University/College Examination.

8. The Ragging is banned in the College and any one found indulging in “ragging”, is likely to be punished, which may include expulsion from the College.

9. Students are required to strictly abide by the code of Conduct and any lapse will be dealt with according to the rules and regulations of the College/University.

10. In case of damage of furniture, Instruments/equipments of the College/Kala Academy Goa, the cost of repairs or replacement will be charged to the student responsible for the damage. The management may impose collective fines to compensate for any such damage.

11. Students must keep their guardians informed of their progress by updating them about their performance in the regular assignments/tests, etc. Parents and guardians must realise that the training of their wards is their joint responsibility and check the progress, conduct, regularity of their wards through their respective teachers personally. Parents must come to meet the Principal without fail whenever they are called.

12. All parents/guardians shall witness the productions of college of Theatre Arts from time to time to check and test the progress of their warden.

13. Consuming alcohol, tobacco in the college and hostel premises is strictly prohibited.

14. Students are not allowed to invite visitors or friends to classes, lectures or rehearsals.

15. It is obligatory for the students to enact any role that they are handed. They must participate in rehearsals and perform the role in the manner required by the lecturers or the Directors of the play.

16. Students violating rules are liable to severe disciplinary action.

17. Students has to stay late during performance related work/Rehearsal, they should intimate their parents/Guardians and make alternate arrangement for stay, Kala Academy will try to provide shared accommodation.

DO's

  • Do carry/wear your identity card at all times. You may be asked to leave the campus if you don’t. Apply for a duplicate I-card incase yours is lost.
  • Do be on time for all your lectures/practicals. You may not be allowed to enter the classroom/labs late.
  • Do take care of the college property and keep it clean and tidy.
  • Do submit your filled in justification form in case you remain absent for lectures/practicals/I.S.A.s / S.E.Es within three days of your rejoining the college.
  • Do read the Notice Board and visit the College website regularly.
  • Do meet the Principal/Vice-Principal in case you have any problem or grievance pertaining to the college.
  • Do participate in the co-curricular activities of the college during your spare time.
  • Do be courteous to other students and to all the teaching and administrative staff.
  • Do maintain good moral and social behavior at all time.

Don't's

  • Do not use unbecoming/indecent language or conduct in the class/campus. This may lead to suspension or dismissal.
  • Do not attend lectures other than your own, except with special permission from the lecturer concerned.
  • Do not damage the fixtures and fittings in the college campus.
  • Do not smoke, consume liquor, drugs or other intoxicants.
  • Do not use mobile/cell phones in the classrooms, laboratories and library.
  • Do not talk/discuss/create disturbance in the Library.
